I can say with absolute confidence that Bloodborne and Dark Souls are amongst the most immersive games I've played. So ERA which view do you think is more immersive - First Person or Third Person?Įntirely dependant on the genre and intended moods and themes. There is a sense of presence there that is unmatched.īut I love TPS games as well and strangely enough I rarely empathize with the main video game characters when they are in first person.

I loved moving around in Deus Ex in first person simply because of how immersive it is. I can understand the concern about ND going FP route because they are one of the studios who take pride in detailed animation and third person games allow studios like ND the benefit of really flexing their animation prowess but First Person games can be super immersive as well. There seem to be quite a lot of people who think Third Person is more immersive than first person and find first person view to be artificial ( common complaint being that it just feels like a floating camera and does not feel like controlling a person ). So seeing some people freak out about the rumor that the next Naughty Dog game is a First Person Sci-fi game was kind of startling to me.
