There is no way to switch it off unless you unplug it from the power source. Remember that FireStick doesn’t actually get shut down. However, if you want to turn it off manually, this is where the methods in this guide will come into the picture. So, even if you just turned the TV off, after 20 minutes, FireStick will get turned off automatically. The good thing about FireStick or Fire TV is that it turns itself off automatically when left idle for some time (20 minutes). Even when your TV is off, FireStick is still running. Similarly, when you push the power button, you are turning off your TV. When you turn the volume up or down with your FireStick remote, you are actually changing the volume of the TV. The power button, volume controls, and mute button synch with the IR profile of your TV. However, this button has nothing to do with FireStick itself. Some FireStick remotes now come with a power button.
